Covid positive in India: Some of our young women and girls have tested positive for coronavirus. Please pray that the risk of further infections may be completely contained. Please also pray for the speedy appointment of a fully qualified hospital manager to help our hospital get back to being a fully functioning service for the local community, completely compliant with government regulations.
Social media conflict: A small nucleus of disgruntled Old Girls and Boys is causing great distress to certain members of the Fellowship by sending abusive messages via social media. Please pray that they may desist from these actions.
The girls at Dohnavur Fellowship: Please pray for our girls who are studying online, that they may apply themselves and work hard to succeed. There is a new District Child Protection Officer in our area, and we hope to build a good relationship with him, that he may be approving of our girls’ progress in general. We would also appreciate prayer for safe-keeping for those of our girls who are studying elsewhere in India, and any Old Girls who are working and living in various parts of South India.
Children with Covid-19: In Tamil Nadu, as of 1st June, 1,322 children aged 0 to 12 years had tested positive for Covid-19. However, as cases have continued to increase in Tamil Nadu, 2,159 more children have tested positive since then, bringing the total number of infected children to 3,481, as of 25th June. Pray that the children who have contracted this virus may be able to be admitted to good hospitals and treated well so that they recover soon. Pray for children who lost their parents in this epidemic that they are given a loving home and care. Please also pray for those of our Old Girls who are working as senior nurses on Covid-19 wards in various hospitals in South India. Please remember others who work in that environment as medical records officers, paramedics, and pharmacists.
Students stuck in lockdown: At Santhosha Vanam, the boarding school attached to the Dohnavur Fellowship, nearly 100 children are there along with staff and a small number of parents, who got stuck as a result of the sudden coronavirus lockdown. Some children have been stranded on their way back home. There is an organisation called MUT (Missionaries Upholders Trust) which takes care of such children and parents and they are now under their care.
Meeting regulations, and Meetings of Vision evangelism: Your prayers are requested for help with the day to day running of The Dohnavur Fellowship so that all is in order concerning government regulations for children’s homes and hospitals. Also, following up from the evangelism via the Meetings of Vision held just before the New Year, we pray that the seed that has been sown may bring forth wonderful growth in hearts and lives.
The Dohnavur Fellowship: The Dohnavur Fellowship is a Christian organisation that works towards holistic development running projects across the areas of child development, education, health care, community development and conservation of nature as a home for rescued children. Please pray for the right children to be brought to the Dohnavur Fellowship. Pray also about the stringent regulations for children’s homes in India and for help for our leaders in complying with all of these.
Outreach to children by The Dohnavur Fellowship: Please pray for the children who are in the care of The Dohnavur Fellowship, for their education and further training opportunities, that each one may be able to fulfil God’s purpose in life. Pray for wisdom as the leaders look at new ways of demonstrating the love of Jesus through impacting the community around them, particularly in outreach to vulnerable children.
