Have you or your family experienced sudden or forced re-entry/ relocation? Perhaps you support families who have had to relocate at short notice. Do you provide member care to people living in uncertainty and with high levels of risk? Perhaps members of your agency had to evacuate unexpectedly during the Covid crisis?
This seminar will look at different aspects of living with risk, suffering and uncertainty, and the implications for member care and TCK care. We will consider the issues that arise from a sudden move, whether caused by political/external situations or family circumstances. What are some of the initial causes for concern and what are the longer-term repercussions? How can we support our members with the aftermath and processing of such unexpected moves? When do we need to refer people on for more help, and what help is there available?
Our 4 speakers will address different aspects of this topic. There will be a session on the spiritual side of living with uncertainty; personal accounts of the impact of living in high-risk areas, and the effect and aftermath of sudden relocation on all the family, and professional input on when and how to get further help.
The cost is £35 to people from GC and MAP member agencies and churches, and £85 for those from non-member organisations. If you are not sure if your church or organisation is a member of GC, please check with them to confirm or see if they feature on our List of Members page.
